41 years ago today ...

41 years ago, in July 1969, Intelligencer photographer Rudy Millarg snapped this photo of three elderly men on a Doylestown stoop. (You can click both images for a larger view.) The negative is labeled simply "Old-Timers, Doy." so, alas, I can't say who these fellows are.

On July 14 Don Renner, another Intell photographer, attended the first day of the 1969 National Model Airplane Championships at Willow Grove Naval Air Station. Conducted by the Academy of Model Aeronautics, the Championships started in 1948 in an attempt to foster an increasing awareness of aviation among young people.
