Larry Handy, 86, submitted this photo of his mother, Ruby Smith Handy, standing on a beach in Norfolk, Va., circa 1917. Ruby’s husband, Earl, was warden of the Bucks County Prison from 1941 through 1962, and the family lived on the prison grounds during his tenure.

As the Archivist at the James A. Michener Art Museum, housed in the original Bucks County Prison, I would be interested in contacting Mr. Handy to learn more about his mother's experiences at the BC Prison.
