This illustrated card, advertising the Eureka grass mower, is an example of the collectible advertising cards that were popular from the late 1800s through the early 1900s. Popularized after the Civil War, these trade cards usually had a picture on one side and an advertisement on the reverse. James M. Burdict probably gave away many cards like this from his shop in Point Pleasant.
