While researching painter Edward Redfield for The Intelligencer's upcoming Postcards from Bucks County book, I discovered that Redfield's son Laurent married Dr. Hayman's daughter, Dorothy.
Around 1947 Redfield had burned hundreds of his own paintings, saving only those he felt were of value. After his death in 1965, Laurent and Dorothy displayed many of the surviving pieces at an informal Redfield museum of sorts near Cross Keys in Doylestown.
Laurent died in 1990; Dorothy in 2005.
