Mystery solved!

Tons of guesses poured in to March 19's Piece of History that featured the mystery building you see here. The majority of readers thought they saw River Road's Devil's Half Acre — the legendary house of ill repute just above Lumberville has held that moniker for over 200 years — hiding under all that April snow, and I believe I agree.

In addition, reader Richard Hanauer added this detail: "You got the date right. On April 9, 1917 a late season nor'easter moved up the coast off New Jersey and dumped seven inches of snow on Philadelphia. Being April, 2 days later it was in the 60's."

  1. Have always heard about the hauntings there and wonder if there is more to them but just legend...
