I do a lot of research on the Carversville area, and the Vasey family name pops up quite often. I was happy, then, to receive this July, 1919 photo — and several more — from Charlotte Lang of Chalfont, who wrote, “This is my grandfather, Samuel B. Vasey, and three of his nine brothers at the Delaware Canal in Lumberville, where the family lived.”
Three of nine brothers? No wonder the surname keeps coming up!
Third one from the right looks so eerily similar to Sean Vasey at that age(now 25) who is the son of Tom Vasey in Gardenville. Their father was Ralph who was born on a farm off Cold Spring Creamery Road around 1920 or so.
ReplyDelete9 boys, that is how you became successful in farming in those days. Breed your workers.
ReplyDeleteMy grandfather, Albert C. Vasey was the youngest brother of the nine. My brother Bruce was named after the Bruce in the picture,
