This photo of Elmer Cope Slifer, taken at Flosdorf Farm in New Britain Township on Curley Mill Road in the late 1920s, comes from an album of family photos belonging to Suzanne Jacob.
Born Nov. 8, 1876, to Mary Ann and Samuel Slifer in New Britain Township, Elmer worked as a dairy farmer and lived with his sister Catherine Fellman and her family. He died Oct. 23, 1927, just 16 days short of his 49th birthday, and is buried in St. Peter's Union Cemetery, Hilltown Township, Row 19, section F-44.
