April snow


An unidentified woman posed for this picture in Solebury Township, near Lumberville, on April 9, 1917 — a little late in the year for so much snow. The house and road look familiar, but I can’t quite put my finger on the location.

Any guesses?

    The house is located betwee River Road and the canal just north of the wing dam above Lumberville. The picture is looking south on River Road.

    The house is located at Devil's Half Acre on River Road north of Lumberville.

    That house is Devils Half Acre! I used to live across the road.

    Most likely one of the owners of the house on the left. A title search on the house might reveal her surname
